During the past year, many tech subjects have been covered on this website, some were good news, others may have given cause for concern, but in the world of technology amazing things will always happen. Of most concern has been the speed at which some innovations have moved, the disruption caused, the robotics, the artificial intelligence impact on society, and so are we likely to see more of the same for 2017?

Festive greetings from the committee to all members of Kapiti SeniorNet with a special thank you to all the tutors who so willingly sacrifice their time to assist other members with the courses, programs and updates. Where would we be without them. A little advert here – if you want to keep up with the rapidly moving technology then become a tutor as, to be able to pass on knowledge, first of all we have to learn it ourselves.
This is the time of year when we can sit back and take a well-earned rest away from the stresses of the last year. What a year, windows 7 to windows 8 and now windows 8.1; goodness knows what’s in store for next year perhaps the computers or tablets will be talking to us and making all the decisions.
We have covered a fair bit of ground these past months, and a variety of topics have been published here. We do hope you found something of interest to you as a member of SeniorNet Kapiti, it can at times be a bit dry and a bit technical, but always informative we hope.
With the Season of Goodwill upon us we not only wish you a wonderful Christmas, but also that the Goodwill extends right through the coming year.
