 Open Days

Open dayThe successful Open Days on Thursday 2nd and Saturday 4th July attracted 32 new members and plenty of enrolments for the Term 3 Courses starting on Monday 20th July. There are still some places available so enroll with Shona, phone 04 905 1643 as soon as possible.

Tech-expo-kapiti-Tech Expo

A number of SeniorNet members contributed to this successful Tech Expo held at Coastlands Shopping town from 18th to 20th July. Some members became Digital Ambassadors while others made three presentations on the Saturday morning session, which aimed at seniors. Attendances at the three presentations varied from 26 to 60 and SeniorNet enjoyed excellent promotion.

SeniorNet has accepted the invitation to continue to be involved with the Kapiti Digital Leadership Forum to represent the IT interests of seniors.

Android Basic Course – An introduction to Android

Given the number of enquiries from members, the Committee is considering the introduction of a Basic Training Course for Android users. This would consist of a three session Course which would be run on different days from the current single session Android workshop. We are interested in getting your views on this proposal and what should be included in the proposed Course. Please E-mail you response to Barry at rosebb@xtra.co.nz.

Tutors wantedMore Tutors needed

We welcome enquiries from those members interested in becoming SeniorNet Tutors. Being a Tutor is a very rewarding experience as you see your students developing confidence to use computers, laptops, iPads and iPhones, Android tablets and smartphones. New Tutors learn the teaching ropes by first being Assistant Tutors under the guidance of the Lead Tutor for each Course. A major benefit is that each time you are involved in a SeniorNet Course you always learn something new. Contact Kuini at lilnkuin@clear.net.nz or by phone 04 293 6946.
